Can I walk away from an auto body shop repair I verbally agreed to?
I was hit in an accident this past week. After going through insurance, I was ready to take my car to get it fixed. I decided to ask the dealership where. They recommended a local shop in town near them -- it happened to be one of the insurance companies' preferred body shops so I figured why not. They are also partnered with Enterprise, so I was able to get a discount on a car rental.
I was told that since they didn't have the parts on hand, they would take my estimate to order the parts and I should come back next week. I had not signed any work order papers or anything -- just an "ok, i'll come back later."
After going home, I decided to do some research on the body shop. Only a handful of reviews came up (literally about 5), and about 2 of them gave bad reviews. I'm doing more research tomorrow. If I find that they are horrendous, is it too late for me to back out? They have ordered the parts and have my estimate, but thats it. I haven't signed any work orders and my car is w/ me
Even though they have the actual copy of the estimate the insurance company gave me, I made a copy of it before taking it to them.

Auto body shop repair?
Any one know if this dent can be fixed by an auto bodyshop. I side swiped my neighbor's car and put a dent just above the tire, where the body bulges outwards. The dent is about half an inch deep at its maximum, and around 12in long. This doesn't require the whole panel (part of the hood) to be replaced, does it? This is a beat up Sentra.

Can anyone estimate the quote on my car's paint job for auto body shop repair?
I accidentally drove my car against a building wall last week, and a patch of paint roughly 3cm x 10 cm just above my left front tire was completely peeled off (the metal is showing). How much do you think it will cost to get this fixed--I'm Canadian, so I assume the price would be about the same for you Americans.
Also, how much time do you think I'll have to wait for them to fix it? A few minutes, or a day?
Is it really necessary for them to do all that wstrahornj mentioned? I don't mind if it doesn't look perfect, but I only want the damaged area painted.
It's not dented.

Pre Owned Certified Used Toyota never told was in 2 accidents before purchase?
Hello,
I purchased a 2008 Toyota Corolla in November of 2008 under the one of those Certified Used Toyota programs. It had a 160 point inspection and the so called Car Fax run on it as well. Ever thing checked out fine as far as I knew. Little did I know the vehicle had been in 2 accidents front and rear previous to me buying it. The Car Fax said nothing and probably still does. I didn't find this out until my wife was in a minor rear end collision 2 months ago. A reputable auto body shop repaired the recent rear end damage only to discover it had been in two prior accidents. They even had an attorney they deal with in situations like this look at it. The attorney did not find any safety related issues so he turned down the case. I'm glad the car is safe but I feel like I've been taken advantage of by this Toyota dealership where I bought the vehicle. They didn't disclose any accident this vehicle had been in even though the body panel sticker (OEM quarter panel, hoods ect. ) were missing locating of all places in the engine compartment. After calling Toyota Corporate I get a call from one of the con artists at the dealer ship (used car sales manager). I spoke to him and he says that Toyota gives them up to 3 body panels that could be damaged. I told him that you didn't disclose this to me and that it lowers the true valueof the vehicle. He said "I'd be wiling to work somethng out out on another used vehicle here on our lot". I declined of course. I asked for a complete 160 point inspection word for word break down and did not receive it. What about resale value? If I brought this to someone else or sold it privately and it was professionly inspected and they found the accidents it had been in I'm going to get low balled. Wheres my compensation for that? The public also needs to understand that just because it says "Certified Used" that it really doesn't mean a thing. The 160 point inspection and Car Fax need to be exposed because I think a lot a people take it for granted and trust when they really shouldn't. I even emailed a local news network who investigates stuff like this and no reply. Do I have any recourse?
Well to the poster who says I have nothing I dearly hope for rest of your life everything that comes way turns to absolute sh@#. You don't have to worry on May 21st cause your going to hell anyways. Enjoy!!!

question about auto body shop repairing fees charging extra.?
My mom car was hit in a parking lot. The other person have insurance cover for us, so we took the car to a shop to have them estimate on the price. They said $700 so we agree to have them fix it. The car shop asked us for the claim number so we gave it to them to contact insurance. End the end the car shop told us that insurance will send out $1300 check under my mom name but to their shop place and told us that there's some fees later on with insurance and them so they're taking all the money. My question is what fees are there for the extra charge that was not there originally? (I didn't talk to the shop so idk what fees they're charging.) And the original price was $700.
It was just a little scratch and dent on the back of the car that isn't that noticeable.
