Right Collision Repairs Severely Needed

Say your Mazda car experienced a collision and your Mazda body kits were damaged, what is the remedy that comes to your mind? To look for a collision repair shop, right? But the question is: How do you choose the right collision repair center?

With over 35, 000 auto body repair shops all over the United States, choosing the repair shop can make a car owner dizzy.

The Vice President of the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB), Steve Cox, agreed that an insurance company may make some recommendations on the right repair shop but he asserted that the ultimate responsibility in selecting a trustworthy and quality-oriented repair shop is in the hands of the drivers themselves. According to him, choosing the right one is a must in order to achieve the desired results.

With the aim of helping the consumers to better manage the collision repair experience, the CBBB and the National Auto Body Council (NABC) have teamed up. Together, they give tips on how to save money on a replacement rental car and on how to arrange any arguments between the shop and the car owner.

The CBBB and the NABC recommend opting for a trustworthy collision repair shop. According to them, a car owner must check out the shop's qualifications. This can be done through asking about advanced technician training from a national organization. It is also a must to look for a shop committed to customer satisfaction.

According to them, everything must be in a black and white form. This means the transaction must be in written form. The car owner must get a written repair and price estimate of the work to be performed. Before the job begins, explanation of why specific recommendations are necessary to fix the collision damage is also important. They further said warranty is another must.

Meanwhile, when buying a brand new car, it will come with an auto insurance policy. Those small prints in that written policy can make a big difference if you need to have collision repairs made to your car. This is especially important if parts need to be substituted.

Most written insurance policies use very specific words as to the replacement parts. Your car's insurance policy may state that the insurance company will use similar kind and quality parts that were originally provided by the manufacturer of your car. Some drivers take this as a minor concern. But your car manufacturer takes this as a major one because most repair shops use salvaged parts or not really quality parts.

Here are some 2 tips to avoid scams in collision repairs:

The first one is that before selecting an insurance company or when renewing your car's insurance policy; know first the limitations of the policy as to the replacement parts. An insurance representative can help in discussing these limitations.

The second tip is that if the company's replacement part policy limitations are issues to you, try other insurers. Because consumers nowadays are very meticulous on replacement part restrictions, there are some insurance companies which offer more choices to policyholders.

The general rule is actually you must get the highest level of satisfaction once your vehicle is replaced. After all, you are the owner of your car so it must yield you the best satisfaction it can ever give.

1989 Chevy Bandit??
My boyfriend has one with a new engine and new tires and is thinking about selling it. I'm at work (my parents own a collision repair shop) and we have the Kelley Blue Book system installed but I can't find the car in there to price it. Anyone know how much these go for? Also, I couldn't find one on ebay or Y! Autos... In response to the first answer: It says Bandit on the back of it, what the hell? I'm not big into trucks or anything sooo...

Is it legal for a auto body shop to take parts off and not put them back on?
My daughter was hit by an uninsured motorize and took my car to Toyota of Dallas for an estimate on repairs. While the vehicle was in their possession they choose to rip off the bumper and side panel to check for additional body damage. They never asked to that and certainly never called me for permission. I am the owner of both the vehicle and the Geico policy holder. My daughter is only 17 and has no legal right to sign any sort of monetary contract. I received a call from the Geico adjuster explaining that they were not going to cover $2000.00 of brake related repairs. The adjuster believed they were not accident related. Toyota of Dallas collision repair shop and after they verified my out of pocket expense was going to be around $2000.00 I had no choice but to refuse the service and have the vehicle to a less expensive place for the brake repairs. I paid Toyota of Dallas $477.37 and another tow service $140.00 to have the vehicle towed to Just Brakes. My daughter goes to pick up the car and is outraged at its condition. The vehicle has no bumper, no side panel, and no headlight. Just Brakes verified this was the condition it was in upon its arrival to their shop being delivered from your dealership. I called Jr in the collision shop to be told that they don't put damaged parts on vehicles. I told them no one ever told them to remove the parts. Below are links to photos, after the wreck before going to Toyota of Dallas, After Toyota of Dallas front view. I have other photos available as well. https://claims.geico.com/(bh4ydiyw4uwzyr45k4svol55)/Temp/230788981_P_2.jpg https://claims.geico.com/(bh4ydiyw4uwzyr45k4svol55)/Temp/233531432_P_8.jpg For more details please view my profile blog. I have a question about my 1999 ford escort?
Basically, I kind of got in a crash with my escort by fender benderinga work van at about 40 mph, and about a week afterwards my alternator belt got burned out and the car was unable to run. I looked at the engine and it seemed to have shifted over to the right, causeing one of the alternator pullies to be pushed up against my fender, making it unable to put the belt on around that pully. I do not know whta is wrong with my car, but I took it to a collision repair shop and they told me it was a $1000 dollar repair. Can anyone help as to explain what there is wrong with my vehicle and if this problem is selg fixable? thanks a lot.

Advice on collision coverage?
I accidentally reversed my car into a tree and I damaged the bumper. I took it to a collision repair shop and they said i have to replace the bumber they gave me an estimate of $1,200.00. I have collision coverage with my insurance. The deductible is $500. So does this mean that i will only be responsible for paying the first 500 dollars? And will this mean that my car insurance rate will go up after this? If someone can give me a quick advise on this, im not exactly sure how it works. im worried about my insurance rate going up . Geico states that an accident that results in a minimal payout and does not involve injuries often will not result in a premium increase. Does anyone one what is the minimal payout allowed in Texas in order to be exempt from an increase on my premiums?
